Heineken Regatta 2013

Shipwreck Shops has been the exclusive distributor for the Heineken Regatta Official Race Gear since the early 90’s and have seen the line grow from a limited edition collection of Heineken Regatta tshirts, polos and caps, to the full nautical lifestyle apparel collection it has become today. “The term HR followed by the year is starting to become a brand all of its own. It started with HR-08, and each year we update the whole look, and try to use some eco-friendly fabrics making the nautical line a collectors item.

Shipwreck Shops Now Partner of Pride Foundation

Shipwrecks Shops has partnered with the Sint Maarten PRIDE foundation, an environmental community based non profit group.

Shipwreck stores that has been established since 1972 with 15 stores island wide has offered to the foundation, a one of a kind designed t-shirt in limited quantities, of which part of the sales proceeds will go to the foundation to help continue eco-projects such as tree planting, beach and community cleanups as well as educational projects for the youth.

The t-shirts depicts one of the wild life species seen everywhere on the island, and are available in very limited quantities. The shirts are now available island wide in their 15 store locations.

There are sixteen Shipwreck Shops on the tiny, 36 square mile island of St. Maarten/St. Martin. That's why you will have a Shipwreck Shop close by, no matter where you stay on the island.

But don't be confused if you don't find the Shipwreck logo always at first glance; our stores come in several flavors: there is Lord & Hunter, Island Living and Boardwalk – but they all offer the great selection of merchandise Shipwreck is famous for.

History

The Shipwreck Shop idea was born in the late sixties, when an American lawyer and his German born girlfriend shipwrecked in a heavy storm on the coast of the Caribbean Island of Antigua. The girlfriend got bored and started her 'shipwreck' shop, decorating it with the wreckage of the sailing yacht. When the concept proved successful, the pair brought it to the Island of St. Maarten.
